Our Story

Meadow Brown Restaurants was formed in 2013 and secured the lease at Ferry Meadows Café for Nene Park Trust in Peterborough. Prior to our commencing operations, the cafe turned over less than £250,000 but in the first year of trading we managed to nearly double revenues to more than £400,000. Working closely with the Trust, we also developed a new café/restaurant business at the Lakeside Pavilion – Lakeside Kitchen & Bar and are proud to say that last year turnover topped £1.13m including an ever-growing events business. This strong year on year growth has been achieved through focusing on a very personal service to our customers, serving great food and really priding ourselves on attention to detail in everything we do.

Raj says “It was the scariest yet most exciting time of my career winning Ferry Meadows Café. After a year we managed to add, Lakeside Kitchen and Bar to our profile. Nene Park has a special place in my heart as this is where it all started for me.”

“We want to create perfect destinations for people to come and take in the amazing views and surroundings of each venue, whilst enjoying the lovely service and great food. We source all of our food and drinks from local suppliers where possible, so nearly every penny spent with us stays in the local community.”

We celebrate our local heritage and have ensured that more than 95% of our suppliers are local to the parks. We communicate this to our customers and feel they recognize that we work hard to support the local economy.

As previously mentioned, the success of our strong relationship at Nene Park has resulted in being awarded a contract extension of ten years, which we believe demonstrates the confidence that the Trust have in our continued service delivery.

Our business has continued to grow and having ran a successful country hotel in Bedfordshire which specialises in weddings and other events, we have finalized the purchase of Woodland Manor Hotel. We are also proud to have been awarded contracts at Delamere Forest, Lincoln Cathedral, Sherwood Forest and Emberton Country Park. Our growth has been measured and careful, we only take on new operations which will allow us to deliver the highest customer experience, are sustainable and where we can make a difference. Moreover, we will never take on more than our business infrastructure can readily support.
